I live in the US, but we watch a lot of home-improvement programs produced in the UK. We have noticed that they all seem to be located in the Kitchen, which is different from how they are situated in homes in the US.
I theorised it was because you seem to place them near the water heaters which are always present in the kitchen, but that was just a guess. Could anyone tell me the actual reason?
Thank you

I think your guess is a good one. But there is also the issue of space. Land comes at a premium in the highly populated areas of the UK. Most homes in the UK are super small as larger homes are far too pricey for the average Joe. They maximize use of the space by condensing the utility areas to the one space which is usually the kitchen!
